Gunshots fired at motor workshop, hypermarket
Unidentified miscreants fired multiple rounds of gunshots at a motor workshop in Dwarka and at a hypermarket in Paschim Vihar, police officials said on Wednesday. The police reported no injuries.
DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh said, “A PCR call regarding the firing was received at 4.14 pm. Upon reaching the scene, we found that three men had visited the motor workshop of Joginder Singh at Durga Park, Dinpur, Najafgarh. While one sat on a bike parked on the road, the other two entered the workshop and began firing at the parked cars.”
Police sources suspect that the Kapil Sangwan gang, also known as the Nandu gang, may be behind the shooting. The targeted facility is a Maruti workshop, the police added.
The Dwarka incident occurred just hours after a shooting outside the Raj Mandir hypermarket in the Meera Bagh area of Paschim Vihar. Visuals from the scene showed shattered glass scattered outside. While the police are investigating, the Nandu gang is also suspected to be involved in this case.
DCP (Outer) Sachin Sharma said, “The Paschim Vihar incident took place around 2.30 pm. The police gathered details from the complainant. It was found that while the complainant was at his shop, three youths arrived on a bike. Two of them, with muffled faces, approached the shop, fired multiple rounds in the air, and fled on the bike.”
