Gulab Chand Kataria appoints Chandigarh Housing Board members

Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria today appointed new official and non-official members of the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) for a period of three years.

The three-year term of the previous board members ended on September 7.

The official members include the UT Finance Secretary, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), CHB; Estate Officer, Chief Architect and Chief Engineer of the Chandigarh Administration.

The non-official members include BJP leader and former councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali, Balbir Singh Dhol PCS (retd) and architect Vinod Joshi.

The board has failed to hold a meeting for the past 17 months and the last meeting was held in May last year.

However, the post of the chairman of the CHB has been lying vacant for the past six years. The post of last held by Maninder Singh Bains till March 2018 and after his transfer, UT Advisers have held the additional charge of the post.
