Panjab University is all set to organise its fifth global alumni meet on December 21. Students from the golden jubilee batch of 1974 and silver jubilee batch of 1999 will be honoured at the event.

The varsity also aims to gather more funds than last year from the alumni network. Last year, the university had raised Rs 6 crore from alumni donations, with largest share — Rs 3.5 crore — coming from Dr Arun Verma for establishing a laboratory at the Dr SS Bhatnagar Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology.

In fact, Chancellor Jagdeep Dhankhar during the convocation held in March had asked the alumni to support their alma mater by giving more time and money.
