Govt ropes in Amitabh Bachchan for anti-cyber crime efforts

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan will power the government’s anti-cyber crime efforts and has joined the Ministry of Home Affairs campaign to prevent cyber frauds in India.

Bachchan made the announcement of his decision to join the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre’s anti cyber crime campaign on Wednesday morning asking citizens to stay alert and mindful of their vulnerabilities.

Bachchan said he had joined on the request of Home minister Amit Shah.

Later, Shah thanked the actor and said, “Pursuing Modi Ji’s vision, the Ministry of Home Affairs is resolved to creating a safe cyberspace in the nation. The I4C has taken several steps in this direction. I thank Shri @SrBachchan Ji for joining this campaign. Amitabh Bachchan Ji’s active involvement will further accelerate our mission to build a Cyber-Secure Bharat.”

The Centre in a separate post said, “Supporting PM Shri @narendramodi Ji and HM Shri @AmitShah Ji’s vision, the iconic actor Shri @SrBachchan Ji has joined I4C’s campaign to make India cyber secure. You too can join this initiative, stay vigilant against cyber fraud, and contribute to building a #CyberSecureBharat.”

Shah had on Tuesday, while addressing the Centre’s first foundation day event, said cyber security was key to national security.
