The state government is promoting handloom products, which embody the rich culture of Himachal Pradesh, said said Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu after presiding over the last cultural evening of the International Lavi fair at Rampur in Shimla district yesterday. He added that fairs like Lavi were not only associated with festivity but also symbolised the spirit of brotherhood and goodwill, dating back centuries. He also released a souvenir on the occasion.
Employees, who had now been covered under the old pension scheme, honoured the Chief Minister. Sukhu purchased traditional ‘doru’ shawl and walnuts from traders.
