Govt jobs were sold during Cong rule, claims Khattar
Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday claimed that an atmosphere of fear, corruption and discrimination prevailed in the state when Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the Chief Minister.
From peon to HCS posts, all jobs were sold under the Congress rule, he claimed, adding that an amount from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 1 crore was charged for each post through agents and middlemen.
The Power and Urban Affairs Minister urged the people to be wary of the "Hooda gang", which, he said, even created hindrances in the recruitment process during the BJP government's tenure.
"As per official data, nearly 82,000 jobs were given during the two successive tenures of the Hooda government. On the other hand, the BJP regime provided around 1.46 lakh jobs on the basis of merit and in a transparent manner in its two terms. Around 25,000 more jobs are in the pipeline," said Khattar while addressing a 'Prabuddh Samaj Sammelan' here on Monday.
He said the highlight of the Congress rule in Haryana was ‘badli’ (transfer), ‘bharti’ (recruitment) and change of land use (CLU).
The BJP leader exhorted prominent residents attending the convention to reach out to the members of their family and social circles to compare the atmosphere that prevailed during the tenures of the Congress and BJP.
Khattar said while the Congress government was in power, his younger brother's wife, who was serving in the state Health Department, approached him for her transfer.
"I requested some of my acquaintances in the then government, but to no avail. Eventually, she told me that she had got herself transferred after paying a certain amount to someone," said the minister.
Rohtak BJP candidate Manish Grover charged the Congress leadership of having instigated the Jat agitation for grant of reservation in 2016, during which the state saw a large-scale arson and violence.
