Governor meets Union ministers over key issues of Punjab, UT
In a significant effort to address pressing challenges and foster development in Punjab and Chandigarh, Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT, recently undertook a two-day visit to New Delhi.
During this visit, he engaged in productive discussions with several prominent Union Ministers to explore collaborative solutions for various regional issues. Kataria met key figures in the Union Cabinet, including Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Jagat Prakash Nadda, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, Electronics & IT, Virendra Kumar, Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism and Culture, Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Labour and Employment, and Govind Mohan, Home Secretary, Government of India.
The discussions primarily focused on critical areas such as infrastructure development, border issues, resource allocation, tourism promotion, labour welfare initiatives and enhancing cooperation.
Kataria emphasised the urgent need for modernising transport network and improving public facilities to ensure sustainable growth in the region.
