For the first time in the three-year-old history, the title of the Chandigarh Golf League ended up having a joint winner, despite five playoff holes.

Partee Panthers and Captain’s 18 underwent five playoffs at Chandigarh Golf Club. Both teams halved their seven games and shared a point in one four-ball game. Jubilee Chandigarh Gladiators secured third place by winning a tense five-hole playoff against Cee Dee The Mulligans.

Rabiya Gill won 3&2 against IS Atwal for Panthers, and Kanwal Bajwa caused an upset with a point back against K Raghav Bhandari for the Captain’s 18. Panthers’ Ramnik Tiwana and Flt Lt Sukhinder Singh, along with Simarinder Singh and Bharat Bhandari, won their games easily. In playoff, Rabiya and K Raghav Bhandari (Panthers) faced Sandhu and Kanwal Bajwa (Captain’s 18). In first playoff hole, Rabiya went for a birdie, while Sandhu put the score at par. After the third hole, Bhandari missed a short. The sudden death fourth hole saw Bajwa recovered to make up. Rabiya unfortunately missed the fifth hole. Bajwa again recovered to make a nett par, while Bhandari’s 15 feet putt lipped out to halve the hole.

Owing to poor light, both teams decided to share the trophy.
