On Dasehra, MLA Gokul Setia walked through Sirsa streets to thank residents for their support in the Assembly elections . He was accompanied by hundreds of supporters and throughout the walk, the residents welcomed him with garlands.

During the event, Gokul addressed the crowd, stating that he had already begun working on the promises he made during his campaign, assuring them that changes would soon be visible. He emphasised that his top priority was to provide clean drinking water to the people. To facilitate communication, he had set up a toll-free number for the residents to report their problems and work on these issues had already started.

Addressing the issue of corruption, Gokul warned that some government officials demanded bribe in exchange for services. He pledged to take action against such practices, urging citizens to report any demand for bribe or delays in their government work. “I will not allow anyone to take bribe,” he declared.

Gokul promised that he would not just be a temporary representative but would remain active in Sirsa to drive progress. He also announced his plans to visit villages in the Sirsa Assembly area for identifying and addressing their issues. “I will ensure that the problems of the villages are raised and resolved,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment for serving the community.

Setia has taken a step to address water supply issues in Sirsa. Responding to complaints from the residents, the MLA released a helpline number four days ago, encouraging people to report problems of drinking water. In just a short time, over 180 complaints were filed. People reported water shortages in their areas, with some colonies not receiving water for years, forcing them to rely on private tankers for their daily needs.

After gathering all complaints, the MLA visited the Public Health Department on Friday with a list of the issues. He submitted the list to the officials and urged them to take immediate action. The department assured him that they would resolve the problems and promised to fill up the vacant posts to speed up the process. They also mentioned that steps would be taken to address the serious staff shortages in Sirsa, which had contributed to delays in water supply.
