Gita Mahotsav events telecast live at six major temples of country

For the first time, cultural events organised from December 5 to 11 during the International Gita Mahotsav were telecast live at six major temples of the country.

For the live broadcast, five special Prachar Raths were sent by the Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Languages, to pilgrimage sites of Shri Jagannath Temple, Odisha; Shri Banke Bihari Temple, Vrindavan; and Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh; Sri Mahakaleshwar Temple, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh; Dwarkadhish Temple, Gujarat; and Thikana Temple Shri Govind Dev, Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Neha Singh said, “The International Gita Mahotsav has gained popularity across the world. People want to attend the festival. While lakhs of people visit Kurukshetra to attend the festival, crores of people join the festival through social media platforms. For the first time, the state government made arrangements to broadcast the programmes of International Gita Mahotsav live at major places of the country by sending Prachar Raths.”

Big LED screens were installed on these publicity vehicles on which Global Gita Paath of International Gita Mahotsav, daily Maha Aarti of Brahma Sarovar at Purushottampura Bagh, cultural programmes of main stage, cultural programmes of Odisha Pavilion, Haryana Pavilion, Kurukshetra University’s International Gita Seminar, 48 Kos Tirtha Sammelan, Akhil Bhartiya Devsthanam Sammelan, Deepdan, Deepotsav and other events were telecast.

Kurukshetra District Information and Public Relations Officer Dr Narinder Singh said, “Online live links were prepared to show these programmes at pilgrimage sites and a large number of devotees at those pilgrimage sites watched the events of the IGM. Following the directions of the Director General, KM Pandurang, five public relations officers of the department were deployed at the five pilgrimage sites to ensure smooth broadcast of the events.”

The International Gita Mahotsav started on November 28 and will conclude on December 15.
