Gargi claimed gold medal in the 5000m event of girls’ U-20 category during the Chandigarh State Athletics Championship underway at the Sector 7 Sports Complex. Sneha and Harshita claimed the second and third positions, respectively.

In the 100m event of the boys’ U-18 category, Aarav Sharma, Gagv Punia and Aman Yadav claimed the top three positions in that order, while in the girls’ category, Himanshi, Banni Tarar and Komal Grover bagged the top three honours.

Hunny won the boys’ U-20 hammer throw event, followed by Mehtab Singh at second position and Gumreet Singh at third. In the girls’ category, Nidhi, Devyanshi and Sunakshi claimed the top three positions, respectively. In the girls’ (3kg hammer throw) event, Simrani Rani, Keshavi and Radhika claimed the top three spots.

Aamairfaiz Khan, Aditya Sharma and Raghubir Yadav claimed the first three positions in the boys’ U-20 long jump event. In the girls’ U-18 long jump event, Sakshi, Ramandeep Kaur and Pavvi were the winners and in the boys’ category, Avant Singh, Dheeraj and Jejasveer Singh bagged medals.

Tanishqdeep Kaur claimed the 400m gold in girls’ U-18 category, followed by Tashu at second position and Harkirat Kaur third. In the 100m event of the girls’ U-18 category, Tulsi, Anjali and Sachi bagged the honours, while in the 400m event of the boys’ U-20 age group, Stanes, Santosh Khati and Aditya Chauhan bagged positions. Shireen won the 400m race in the girls’ U-20 category, while Seema Kaur finished second and Arshpreet Kaur claimed the third position. In the boys’ event, Manveer Singh claimed the top spot, followed by Mayank Singh at second and Nitin Singh at third. In the 110m event of the boys’ U-18 category, Dev Latawa, Anshul Yadav and Vdhey won medals.

Punya wins 100m dash

Punya Handa of Panjab University clocked 18.01s to win the 100m race in the girls’ U-20 category. Anisha Kumari (22.17s) of Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, claimed the second position and Muskan Preet (28.73s) of Srishiti Karma Foundation claimed third spot.
