On the occasion of 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary, MLA Phillaur along with municipal councillors, leaders and police personnel paid floral tributes to the Father of the Nation at Gandhi Dham.

Addressing the gathering at Gandhi Dham in a simple but impressive function organised to mark the occasion, Chaudhary impressed upon following the teachings of the Mahatma for a peaceful and violence-free society. He emphasised that the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his teachings are needed in today’s life where intolerance and violence have become a way of life.

Vikramjit Singh Chaudhary said that Punjab should feel proud that his ashes were immersed in Sutlej at Phillaur. “We should adopt a Gandhian way of life that is based on equality, freedom, justice, social and economic emancipation,” he said.
