Gandhi family mum on Congress’s false promises, says Anurag
Local MP Anurag Thakur today condemned the Gandhi family for failing to break its silence on the state’s woes and the “false” poll promises the Congress had made.
The former Union minister, in a statement issued here, said, “The mothers and sisters of Himachal are still waiting for their (allowance of) Rs 1,500 per month, while farmers are awaiting the purchase of cow dung for Rs 2 per kg and milk for Rs 80 to Rs 100 per litre.”
Anurag said, “The unemployed youth are waiting for five lakh jobs and households are waiting for 300 units of free electricity as Congress leaders had promised to them.”
The Hamirpur MP said that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka had not yet uttered a word about the “false promises made by the Congress” two years ago. He added, “Neither is the wait for Himachal ending, nor is the silence of the Gandhi family breaking on the plight of the state.”
Anurag’s statement comes a day after Priyanka Gandhi, during an election rally in Haryana, praised the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh for putting people’s money back in their pockets through welfare schemes.
