A fire broke out at a furniture shop on Hoshiarpur’s Red Road at around noon on Wednesday, causing panic at the market. The shop owner, with the help of shoppers nearby, tried to control the fire, but the fire went out of control.

The fire brigade was immediately informed about this. Fire tenders reached the spot. After a lot of effort, the fire was controlled. The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. As soon as the news of the fire was received, police and administration officials, and former minister Brahma Shankar Jimpa reached the spot.
