‘Friendly fight’ between INDIA bloc allies on three Jharkhand segments
All eyes are on the three Assembly constituencies of Jharkhand where the INDIA bloc constituents have put up more than one candidate, paving the way for friendly fights in these constituencies.
Friday was the last date for the withdrawal of candidature, but there had not been withdrawal from any of these seats.
As per the alliance, the JMM is contesting on 42 seats, the Congress on 30 seats, the RJD on six seats and three seats were left for CPI (ML). However, the Congress, the RJD and the CPI (ML) have put up more candidates.
The prominent seat among these is Dhanwar, from where BJP state president Babulal Marandi is contesting the election. In the alliance, the seat went to the JMM and the party has put Nizamuddin Ansari as its candidate from the seat. However, its ally, the CPI (ML), wanted this seat and negotiations went on till the last day of filing nomination. The CPI (ML) has also fielded Rajkumar Yadav from the seat and now, there will be a friendly fight.
The other two seats are Bishrampur and Chhatarpur, where both the Congress and the RJD have put up their candidates. As per the alliance, Bishrampur was allotted to the RJD and the party fielded Naresh Prasad Singh. But the Congress also put up its candidate Sudhir Chandravanshi from the seat and none of them were ready to withdraw nomination.
With the Congress contesting on one RJD seat, the latter, too, put up a candidate in Chhatarpur, which was allotted to the Congress in the alliance. The RJD fielded Vijay Kumar against Congress candidate Radhakrishna Kishor.
