District Labour Welfare Officer Sapan Jasrotia yesterday said the District Labour Welfare Office, Kinnaur, organised a monthly free medical health check-up camp at the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya construction site in Reckong Peo, Kinnaur.

During the camp, health check-ups were conducted for 119 workers, and free medicines were distributed.

The District Labour Welfare Officer made the workers aware of the various welfare schemes run of the state government for their benefit.

As many as 37 workers were provided BOCW (Building and Other Construction Workers) identity cards.

Several issues related to the registration of workers with the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board were also resolved on the spot.

Jasrotia said the current state government was working towards the welfare of workers through inclusive policies, which were improving their living standards. The benefits of labour laws are reaching the labour community, he added.
