Four persons were severely injured in a bus-SUV collision near the Verka chowk in Phase 6 around 2:30 am on Saturday.

The victims, Akash, Pritpal, Vikky and Amritpal, were going from Chandigarh towards Kharar side when the SUV in which they were travelling collided with a luxury bus from behind at a turn.

Both vehicles were badly damaged. The airbags of the SUV were deployed, which mitigated injuries to the occupants. They have been admitted to a hospital.

The police said the victims were not in a state of recording their statements.
