Former SA cricketers arrested over match-fixing
Former South Africa test cricketers Thami Tsolekile and Lonwabo Tsotsobe have been arrested over long-running match-fixing allegations and charged with corruption, leaving them facing the possibility of prison sentences if they are convicted. They have been charged with five counts under South Africa's anti-corruption law after appearing in a specialised commercial crimes court in Pretoria on Friday.

India to open against HK in Women’s Handball C’ship
Hosts India will look to make a strong start when they face Hong Kong in their opening match of the 20th Asian Women's Handball Championship, which kicks off here on Tuesday. India is hosting the tournament for the first time, and the 25-member squad, captained by Diksha Kumari, faces a tough challenge against some of Asia's top teams. India is placed in Group B alongside powerhouses Japan, Iran, and Hong Kong. In addition to their opener against Hong Kong, India will take on Iran on December 4 and Japan on December 6 at the Indira Gandhi Arena here.

Para shuttler Nitesh nominated for 'player of the year' award
India's Paralympic champion Kumar Nitesh has been nominated along with three others for the men's Para Badminton Player of the Year, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) said on Monday. Nitesh, who won his maiden gold medal in SL3 category at the Paris Paralympics, will be competing for the award with two-time Paralympic gold medallists Cheah Liek Hou (SU5) of Malaysia, Japan's Daiki Kajiwara (WH2) and China's Qu Zimo (WH1).

Pranavi finishes 3rd, records career best performance in LET
Indian golfer Pranavi Urs registered her best pay day as she finished third in the season-ending Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España on the Ladies European Tour (LET) here. Playing in her first year on the LET, Pranavi rounded of the week with four-under 68 to total 14-under and sole third. Pranavi picked up 42,000 euros and rose to 17th on the LET Order of Merit.
