Highlighting key issues like the shortage of DAP fertiliser, hurdles in paddy procurement and cases filed against farmers for burning stubble, former MLA Amit Sihag met the Dabwali SDM. He submitted a memorandum to him addressed to the Chief Minister of Haryana.

Sihag expressed concerns over the unavailability of DAP fertiliser, which is crucial for the wheat and mustard crops. He noted farmers were forced to stand in long queues at shops. “When fertiliser is available, they are pressurised to buy additional products like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK), Nano DAP, and Nano Urea, which is unfair,” he mentioned. He urged the government to ensure adequate supply of DAP fertiliser in Dabwali area.

Additionally, Sihag pointed out that farmers were facing difficulties in selling their paddy due to moisture content and claims of hybrid seeds. There was a deduction of 8 to 10 kg per quintal even if procurement happened, he highlighted, calling it ‘unjust’. He also called for the immediate withdrawal of cases against farmers burning stubble and demanded new sheds to replace the old ones in the mandi.
