Former BJP MLA joins National Conference
The BJP received a major setback today after its former MLA Kamal Arora and his supporters joined the National Conference (JKNC). The formal induction took place in Srinagar where party chief Farooq Abdullah was also present.
Senior NC leaders welcomed Kamal Arora and his supporters into the party fold, hailing their decision as a “bold step towards securing the future of J&K”. Farooq Abdullah emphasised the growing trust and confidence that people from various political backgrounds are placing in the NC.
He said: “The NC stands for secularism, unity, development and the rights of the people of J&K. We welcome Kamal Arora and his supporters with open arms. We are confident that together we will work for the betterment of the region.”
Kamal Arora said he was disillusioned with the BJP’s policies and expressed confidence in the leadership of Farooq Abdullah.
