Sensitising the SHOs, police post in-charges and Assistant Commissioners on the importance of collecting digital evidences in criminal cases, Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma conducted a meeting here today.

Sharma told the officials that keeping a record of the digital evidences was paramount as per the three new criminal laws that became effective from July 1 this year. He also shared with them the details of the procedures as per which these records have to be maintained.

The discussions centred around the use of the e-Sakshya application, launched by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for the purpose. They were familiarised with the new procedures and asked to ensure a smooth implementation of the app across all subdivisions and police stations.
