The district jail administration in Hanumangarh has recovered five SIM cards from the possession of Sukhvir alias Mahanta, an undertrial prisoner, who is the prime accused of shooting a man dead in front of the Additional District and Session Judge courtroom about eight years ago.

District jail guard Ramdhan, who was on duty as sentry guard, informed the administration that Sukhvir’s activities were suspicious. After searching him on suspicion, they found a small box in his possession. When jailor Amara Ram Bhati opened the box, five SIMs and an Airtel 5G Plus wrapper were found. A case under Section 42 of the Prison Act has been registered.
