The police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 3,500 intoxicant tablets from them. Those arrested were identified as Guni Ram (34) and Rohit Kumar (34), residents of Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, now residing at Judge Nagar in Mohkampura. Both the suspects worked as sweet makers in the city.

DCP Alam Vijay Singh said the police received a tip-off that the duo were involved in illegal trafficking of pharmaceutical drugs here. Following the information, the CIA staff laid a trap and arrested the suspects with banned drugs. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the duo.

In the second incident, the Ranjit Avenue police arrested three persons identified as Sujal Smile, a resident of Housing Board Colony, Chanchal, alias Tooti, a resident of Sanjay Gandhi Colony, and Mithu, aka Ghora, a resident of the Fatehgarh Churian road, and recovered 45gm of heroin from them. The police said the suspects were nabbed by a patrolling party near Baba Ishar Singh School link road bypass.
