Health minister Dr Balbir Singh today said a fine of Rs 9.50 crore had been imposed on L&T for delays in the canal water supply project. He assured people that the project would be operational by December 2025. Additionally, the road repair work after the pipeline installation had begun and would be completed soon, he said. He said he would visit each ward and resolve all issues of Tripuri residents.

The health minister said this while addressing, ‘Aap ki Sarkar, Aap ke Dwaar’ (your government at your doorstep), to address the grievance of people in the rural wards of Patiala. During this, the minister listened to the concerns of residents of Wards 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11 and directed the authorities concerned to resolve them on the spot.

Accompanying him were Municipal Commissioner Dr Rajat Oberoi, SDMs Manjeet Kaur and Deepjot Kaur, Civil Surgeon Dr Jatinder Kansal, DSP Dr Manoj Gorsi, SMO Dr Monica, and other departmental officers.

While interacting with the public, Dr Balbir stated that due to the poor governance of previous governments, they inherited deteriorating hospitals, broken roads, a dilapidated city, and a weakened economy. However, under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, the Punjab Government was rectifying everything.

Dr Singh announced that a statue of Sai Jhule Lal Ji would be installed in the park near the Tripuri water tank. He further shared that for the first time, a drainage pipeline for rainwater was being laid in Patiala, while a 4 kilometer line from Phulkiyan Enclave to Model Town Drain had already been completed. The tender for street lights had been issued, and soon Patiala would be illuminated, he added.
