Firing at Salman's house: Bishnoi’s aide held for supplying weapons
In a joint operation, the Mumbai and Panipat police arrested Sukhbeer, alias Sukha, a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, on Wednesday. Sukha, from Rer Kalan village in Panipat, is accused of supplying weapons to the shooters who opened fire at actor Salman Khan’s residence in April.
According to the police, two individuals on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, before fleeing. The shooters were later apprehended, and Lawrence Bishnoi was identified as being behind the attack. Inspector Subhas Chand, SHO of Sector 29, said, “A team from Mumbai’s Panvel police station arrived in Panipat late Wednesday night, revealing that Sukhbeer’s name had come up in connection with the shooting incident.” Using electronic surveillance, the police tracked Sukha to a hotel in the Sector 29 industrial area. “We raided the hotel and arrested Sukha,” the SHO said. Sukha was produced in a court and taken to Mumbai on transit remand.
“Preliminary probe indicate that Sukha leads a group of over 200 youths associated with the Bishnoi gang and had provided weapons to the shooters involved in the attack on Salman Khan’s residence,” the SHO added.
