Filmmaker seeks crowd funding for ‘Tiger Eyes’

Award-winning filmmaker Siddharth Chauhan from Shimla is raising Rs 25 lakh through crowdfunding for his upcoming feature film ‘Tiger Eyes’, a psychological thriller. The film’s total budget is estimated at Rs 60 lakh.

Chauhan’s debut feature film, Amar Colony, garnered critical acclaim and won several prestigious awards, including the Special Jury Prize at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the Best Indian Debut Director award at the International Film Festival of Kerala in 2022. His earlier short films, Papa and Pashi, also earned accolades at numerous national and international festivals.

Set in Shimla and its surrounding areas, ‘Tiger Eyes’ explores the journey of a single mother helping her youngest daughter confront her fears. “The story delves into the dynamics of parental control and the struggles of overcoming personal fears,” Chauhan shared.

Chauhan highlighted how notable filmmakers like Shyam Benegal, Anurag Kashyap and Rajat Kapoor successfully used crowdfunding for their projects. He expressed hope that cinema lovers and fans of his work would support the film.

“I believe in the power of collective contributions to bring meaningful stories to life,” he said, urging people to help realise his vision. ‘Tiger Eyes’ promises to be an engaging exploration of human psychology, parental influence, and personal liberation.
