Film-making workshop held at Chaudhary Devi Lal University
A film-making workshop was organised at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, for journalism and mass communication students. The aim of the workshop was to give students a hands-on experience in presenting social issues through storytelling. Students were apprised of story writing techniques and camera angles during the session.
Ramesh Chahal, a well-known story writer and former student, was the resource person. He guided students on how to build careers in production, direction and scriptwriting. He also explained the different stages of film making and emphasised the importance of good storytelling.
Professor Deepak from Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, joined the session online and informed students about the Haryana Film Festival 2025, which will take place in Rohtak.
Dr Amit Sangwan, the department head, welcomed the speaker and mentioned that such workshops were regularly held under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Ajmer Singh Malik. He also discussed the increasing demand for creative students in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) and the role of journalism students in the media industry.
The workshop was attended by over 30 students. Prof Sewa Singh Bajwa, Dr Ravindra, Dr Vikas, Dr Krishan, and Dr Timsy Mehta were also present.
