Fazilka man arrested in Siddique murder case
The Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in a joint operation with the Maharashtra Police, on Saturday arrested a Fazilka-based person in connection with politician and realtor Baba Siddique’s murder that took place in Mumbai last month.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said the arrested person was an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi and was identified as Akash Gill of Pakka Chishti in Fazilka district. “Preliminary probe reveals the arrested person is an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He was providing logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the murder of Baba Siddique,” said the DGP in a post on his X handle. He said the accused had been handed over to the Mumbai Police for further investigation.
AGTF ADGP Promod Ban said police teams under the supervision of AGTF AIG Sandeep Goel had been working closely with the Mumbai Police in the case and during the ongoing investigation, the role of Akash Gill came to the fore.
AGTF teams and the Mumbai cops arrested the suspect from the Sulemanki road in Fazilka, he added.
