Fatehgarh Sahib police bust gang of robbers, arrest six

The district police claimed to have unearthed a gang of robbers and snatchers with the arrest of six members of the gang — all of them migrants belonging to Bihar. The police seized a pistol, swords, iron rods, knives and other weapons from the accused.
Addressing the mediapersons, SP (Investigation) Rakesh Yadav said that the district police have launched a campaign against the drug abuse and anti-social elements. He added that during patrolling, Sirhind CIA staff in-charge Narpinder Singh got the information that some suspicious persons were meeting at a secluded place in Sirhind. The CIA team raided the area and nabbed six persons, identified as Barjesh, Ravi, Bhinder Ram, Suraj Kumar, Vishal Patel and Gagan, all residents of Bihar presently residing in Fatehgarh Sahib and Rajpura area. He said that during their preliminary investigation, the accused revealed that they all are the members of a gang involved in looting and snatching and were planning to strike in the Sirhind area. The accused have been booked under Sections 310(4), 310(5) of the BNS, and 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act, he added. The SP added that during further interrogation, more cases of looting, snatching and theft are likely to come out.
According to police, Gagan is already facing eight criminal cases of theft and snatching, whereas Bhinder Ram is facing four such cases.
