Farmers observe 1-day fast in solidarity with Dallewal in Karnal, Kaithal

Farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU-Charuni) observed a one-day fast in Kaithal and Karnal district headquarters on Thursday to express their solidarity with Punjab farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been observing fast for the past around 25 days at Khanauri border to press the demands of Punjab’s farmers.

As many as 13 farmers participated in hunger strike from 10 am to 4 pm in Kaithal, while 11 farmers observed fast in Karnal.

Vikram Kasana, state youth president of BKU (Charuni) led the fast in a park outside Mini Secretariat in Kaithal, while Ajay Rana, Karnal district president, led the dharna outside Mini Secretariat in Karnal.

A memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was submitted to Tehsildar Ravindra Hooda, highlighting key farmer demands, including the guarantee law to ensure MSP and the resolution of pending issues from the 2020 farmer protests.
