A 60-year-old farmer was gunned down by some youths in a land dispute case at Jhall Theerkriwal village here last evening.

Farmer Jaspal Singh and his son Gurmukh Singh of Sukhia Nangal village had gone to the site to check their fields in their car. The father-duo son had been tilling about 25 acre in the village for the past 8-9 years.

As they reached there, some youths, including Rattan Singh, Tarsem Singh, Bagga Singh and others, attacked them. Both sides engaged in a fight over occupying the land. The fight took a nasty turn when one of the youths opened fire and a bullet hit Jaspal Singh.
