In a decisive move to combat stubble burning, the Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department has suspended three officials for negligence in monitoring stubble burning incidents in the district. The suspended officials include a block agriculture officer, block nodal officer, and an analytical associate.

Additionally, Deputy Commissioner Karnal, Uttam Singh, has issued show-cause notices to 41 officials assigned to monitor and prevent stubble burning. These officials are being held accountable for failing to report incidents of crop residue burning in their respective areas.

“The Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department has suspended three officials, and show-cause notices have been issued to 41 others for dereliction of duty. They were part of various teams assigned to monitor and control stubble burning incidents,” said Uttam Singh, adding that strict vigilance is being maintained to curb such violations.
