On Thursday, a fake profile of Inspector Ram Ratan was created. On September 7, 2020, fraudsters had created a fake profile of DSP Dilsher Singh Chandel and sought money from his friends and relatives. TNS

Man ARRESTED with ganja

Panchkula: The crime branch of the police yesterday arrested a Chandigarh resident and seized 1.3 kg of ganja from his possession. The suspect was identified as Sonu, a resident of Mauli Jagran. He was produced in a local court today, which sent him to two-day police remand. The suspect was arrested by a patrolling party near Tipra village on the Kalka-Shimla highway on Friday around 4 pm. Aman Kumar, in-charge of the crime branch, said the police intercepted the suspect coming on foot from the Ghatiwala side with a plastic bag in his hand. On seeing the police, the suspect tried to escape. He, however, was nabbed by the police after a brief chase. The cost of ganja is around Rs15,000. A case was registered. TNS

CME by PGI animal research facility

Chandigarh: An online CME on ‘animal models in health and disease’ will be held on Sunday by the advanced small animal research facility of the PGI to commemorate the completion of 10 years of the facility.
