Fake currency seized in Sirsa

In another crackdown, the Haryana Police have seized counterfeit currency amounting to Rs1lakh from two persons in Sirsa district.
A police spokesperson said a joint team of Crime Investigation Agency and Sirsa Police on a tip-off had seized 168 currency notes in the denomination of 500 and eight notes in the denomination of 2,000 from two people.
The accused were identified as Baljit, alias Bagga, a resident of Kirti Nagar, Sirsa, and Babbu of district Mansa, Punjab. A case was registered and further investigation is underway.
In another incident, the police in Sirsa seized 31 gm heroin and arrested five persons, including two women, from Dabwali area. After enquiring about the name of supplier, a case under the NDPS Act was registered. In yet another case, five persons were nabbed with 1,070 restricted pharma capsules and 150 pharma pills. — TNS
