Faridabad: The department of literature and languages of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, is organising an expert lecture series from July 5 to 9, on ‘English literature and critical thinking’. Vice-Chancellor Prof Dinesh Kumar will inaugurate the lecture series on July 5, followed by the first lecture of the series by Prof Jaibir Hooda from MDU, Rohtak, who will address the topic, “Popular Culture and Popular Literature: how to deal with it”. The lecture series will include visual quizzes and interactive sessions for which cash prizes will be presented to winners. On completion of the series, every participant will be conferred with certificates based on registration and feedback forms collected. These sessions are open for all irrespective of their knowledge in the field English Literature, said a university spokesperson.

Golden jubilee at MLN College

Yamunanagar: Mukand Lal National College, Radaur, celebrated the golden jubilee with gaiety and fervour. A vaccination camp was organised on the occasion in which 260 persons were vaccinated. Dr Deepak Kaushik, officiating principal, appreciated the contribution of Mukand family in the field of education and health. Fiftyone saplings were planted to mark the golden jubilee of the college.

Webinar for teachers

Yamunanagar: Dyal Singh Public School, Jagadhri, organised a webinar for middle and high school teachers on the topic, “Digital pedagogies and their applicability during online teaching. The teachers got acquainted with the innovative teaching strategies to sustain students’ involvement and interest in e-learning modules. The resource person answered the teachers’ queries and provided the best possible solutions to the problems faced by the teachers during online teaching.

Humour writing and literature

Yamunanagar: An interactive webinar was organised on the topic ‘Humour writing and literature’ by the department of English, Mukand Lal National College, Yamunanagar. Dr Ritu Kumar, the head of the department of English, introduced the resource person Chetna Keer as the novelist and satirist. She interacted with the students and faculty members of the college during the webinar. Dr Rahul Singh and Dr Pooja Jain thanked her for giving valuable insight to the students. Dr Rahul Khanna, the officiating principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the faculty members for conducting webinars as per the demand of the current times.

Online programme for students

Yamunanagar: An online student constitutional consciousness programme was organised by the legal literacy cell, political science and public administration departments of Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar. Advocate Bhupendra Shandilya and Amita Kumari, both members of the District Legal Services Authority, Yamunanagar, said along with reading and writing, they should also take care of their constitutional and social obligations. College Principal Dr (Major) Harinder Singh Kang praised the creative work being done by the college.
