Expect more Suwidha at centres in Mohali now
Mohali, April 13
The Mohali administration today said the working hours of the Suwidha centres had been increased. The number of counters for providing services had also been increased. “We have asked the authorities not to take more than 15 to 20 minutes to provide a service after the token is generated,” said Amit Talwar, Deputy Commissioner.
Talwar has held a series of meetings with officers of all branches and the progress of the ongoing projects and services has been reviewed. He said the officers had been directed to settle the backlog of cases within a month. In addition, the authorities had also been directed to provide government services on the doorstep so that people did not have to make rounds of government office unnecessarily.
The Deputy Commissioner said the objective would be to create a conducive working environment for industrial and IT enterprises by understanding their difficulties so that employment opportunities could be created for the unemployed in the region.
“We intend to deal with illegal constructions and fraudulent builders with iron hand,” he said.
