EPFO camps address employees’ grievances
The regional office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), on Wednesday organised ‘Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0’ in order to address the grievances being faced by the employees. The camps were organised by Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Batala (Gurdaspur) and Pathankot offices.
Lokendra Singh, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, said that as many as 6,836 claims were settled in November this year of which 4,299 claims were settled within three days. Apart from this, pension was also paid to 65 new pension holders and 27,602 pensioners, he added.
He said that during the programme, the nodal officers held discussions with employers and employees about the new programmes, named “Employment Linked Incentive” scheme under the Prime Minister's Package announced in Budget 2024.
These schemes would be based on enrollment in the EPFO, focused on recognition of first-time employees. It offers direct benefit transfer of one month’s wages (up to Rs 15,000) to first-time employees in three installments. Another scheme offers incentives for new employment in manufacturing sector by direct payment to employers/employees' contribution towards EPF for four years. Similarly, another scheme covers other sector employers for incentive of EPF contribution up to Rs 3,000 monthly for two years.
