Dr Ram Pal Saini, Principal of DAV PG College, said environmental conservation was not just a campaign but a responsibility that required everyone’s active participation.

He was addressing students on Saturday at the closing ceremony of Environment Conservation Week organised under the college’s National Service Scheme (NSS). On the final day of the campaign, NSS volunteers visited various locations in the city— including the vegetable market, Karna Tal, ITI Chowk, and the bus stand — where they raised awareness among the public about the importance of protecting the environment.

Saini urged people to maintain a safe and healthy environment for future generations. “We must understand that without safeguarding the environment, our existence is at risk,” he said. "If we neglect this issue today, the consequences will be borne by the generations to come." NSS Officer Dr Balram Sharma said the campaign received enthusiastic support from people in both villages and cities, many of whom promised to continue spreading awareness about environment conservation.
