Women power to the fore

A ground-breaking new web series is set to redefine the portrayal of Punjab on screen. The series, Kudiyan Punjab Diyan will delve into the lives of five extraordinary Punjabi women as they navigate their aspirations to settle in the United Kingdom. The poster of the series was launched at the Chandigarh Press Club in the presence of producer Hardeep Singh, co-producer Pappu Khanna, director Shivamm Sharma and executive producer Monika Ghai on Tuesday. Often, Punjab is depicted as a land steeped in tradition and rustic charm, overlooking the rapid strides made by its women. This series challenges the conventional narrative by showcasing the modern Punjabi woman, who is breaking barriers and excelling in every field — right from aviation to sports.

At the heart of the series lies a powerful message of equality. It celebrates the strength, resilience and ambition of these five young women, as they embark on a journey to pursue their dreams in a foreign land. The series will explore their motivations, challenges and triumphs, offering a fresh perspective on the lives of Punjabi women.
