Beloved industrialist and visionary leader Ratan Tata passed away on October 9, leaving behind cherished memories of his kindness and modesty. In a recent episode of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16’, featuring filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Boman Irani, Amitabh Bachchan shared one such heartfelt memory of Ratan Tata.

Recalling Tata’s simplicity and humility, Bachchan described him as an extraordinary person. “Kya aadmi the main bata nahi sakta (What a man he was!),” Big B remarked.

Bachchan also recounted a story from a flight to London they once shared. After arriving at Heathrow Airport, when Tata realised he couldn’t locate his aides, he went to a phone booth to make a call. Smiling, Bachchan recalled that Tata came out, approached him, and asked, “Amitabh, can I borrow some money from you? I don’t have money to make a phone call.”

The mega superstar also shared another instance that highlighted Ratan Tata’s modesty. A friend who attended an event with Tata was surprised when he asked him for a ride home. “Ratan Tata told my friend, ‘Can you drop me home? I just live behind your house,'” Bachchan shared.

“Ratan Tata said, ‘I don't have a car' – can you imagine that? It's unbelievable,” Bacchan said reflecting on the late industrialist’s remarks.

In a similar instance, an old viral post had recently resurfaced, where a woman had playfully called Tata “chhotu” on Instagram. While some found the comment disrespectful and criticised her, Tata responded with grace, diffusing the situation.

In a series of Instagram stories defending his supposed troll, he wrote, “There is a child in each one of us. Please treat this young lady with respect.” He added, “I appreciate and respect the heartfelt note that the young lady had left me, and hope she will not refrain from posting again.”
