Ensure prompt lifting of paddy: DC

Deputy Commissioner Preeti Yadav held a meeting with ADC (General) Isha Singal, all SDMs, Food and Civil Supplies Department, procurement agencies, District Market Officer and agriculture officials to ensure the immediate lifting of paddy crop being procured in the mandis of the district.

Yadav directed them to ensure that there was no delay in the immediate lifting of the paddy, which was being procured in the district mandis.

She has also ordered all SDMs and other officials to go to the field and conduct checking and said the payment for the procured paddy should also be made simultaneously so that there was no inconvenience to the farmers and arhtiyas.

She said the sacks filled in trucks from the mandis should be immediately transported to the godowns so that the paddy sacks did not remain in the mandis and were lifted simultaneously.

She said the Punjab Government was committed to ensuring that no farmer faced any difficulty in selling the produce.

The DC said any problem in any procurement centre should be immediately resolved, but there should be no hindrance in the lifting of the procured paddy.
