Presiding over a meeting, the DC said that a water sampling drive was being carried out expeditiously in the district and the education officials must give topmost priority to ensuring availability of functional RO system or potable water for schoolchildren. She also asked them to get checked the RO systems installed at schools through headmasters or principals and submit action-taken reports. Action would be taken against any school or public place that was not ensuring compliance, she added.

She said special teams had been set up for sampling and taking action against vendors selling unclean food at stalls, sweet shops and restaurants. Fumigation schedules are also to be be strictly adhered to. She also talked about having accomplished 100 per cent pre-monsoon water sampling.
