Hisar, August 3
The Haryana Power Engineers Association (HPEA) has taken strong exception to the suspension of XEN of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) Himanshu Panwar in Kurukshetra
during a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee yesterday.
HPEA state president Vijender Lamba, who is also the joint secretary of the All-India Power Engineers Federation, in a statement here today said the minister ordered the suspension without any inquiry, which was against the rules. “This type of action tarnishes the image of the entire power department and officers. Such unilateral ‘Tughlaqi’ diktat will not be tolerated at any cost,” he said.
The meeting condemned the behaviour of the minister.
General secretary, HPEA, Anil Nagar said, “The government is offering many electricity-related schemes, which engineers have been working hard to implement despite the lack of resources so that the public can get benefits. But on the other hand, such dictatorial actions are being taken to demoralise the officials.”
Nagar said this was not the first time such unreasonable and uncalled for action has been taken against officials.
“Earlier also, the engineers have been harassed through political interference in power utilities. We have written to the government earlier also to stop such incidents,”
he said.
He further said the HPEA had written to CM Nayab Singh Saini to ensure that such one-sided and dictatorial actions were not taken against any official. The HPEA demanded that the government should immediately reinstate the XEN. — TNS
