Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Sachin Pilot called on the people of Gharaunda to bring an end to the 14-and-a-half-year political exile of the Congress from the Gharaunda Assembly seat.

Addressing a gathering at Kohand village in support of party’s candidate Virender Rathore for the Gharaunda Assembly segment, Rathore urged the voters to secure victory for the party in the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. Pilot emphasised that it was time for the Congress to reclaim its place in Gharaunda.

“Lord Rama endured an exile of 14 years, but the Congress has been witnessing an exile of 14-and-a-half year from Gharaunda. It is time to end this and ensure the victory of Virender Rathore to bring the Congress back on this seat,” said Pilot.

“This time, vote in favour of Rathore so that your MLA can represent you in Chandigarh and work for your benefit,” Pilot urged.

He said, “While serving as the convener of Rajasthan, Rathore worked hard for the party. I assure you, he is a deserving candidate and your support will bring a major change in terms of development.”

Pilot also criticised the BJP government, accusing it of promoting caste divisions and failing to work in public interest. Referring to the change of guard in Haryana recently, Pilot questioned the decision to remove former CM Manohar Lal Khattar just months before the election. “If Khattar had done such great work, why was he removed? Why is not the election being fought under his leadership?” he asked, pointing out the party’s internal struggles.

He highlighted the winds of change in Haryana and said, “The BJP has divided people in the name of religion, temples, and mosques. But this time, the people of Haryana want change, and the wave of change is here.”
