Shimla, September 1

The Himachal Pradesh Employees Federation has declared that the demands of the Secretariat employees are justified and if the government ignored the employees, it will have to face the consequences.

The federation held its meeting to discuss the pending issues of employees, including DA, arrears and other matters, in Shimla today. Federation leader Hira Lal Verma said the government needed to consider the demands of the employees. He stated that they were with the Secretariat employees and emphasised that there should be a dialogue between the government and employees. Verma pointed out that there were 4.85 lakh employees and pensioners in the state, and they were not asking for charity but their rights.

He also criticised the Universal Pension Scheme (UPS), saying it is not in the interest of employees and is even worse than the National Pension Scheme (NPS).
