The Wildlife Week celebrations kickstarted in Paonta Sahib Forest Division with an ‘Elephant Roadshow’ in the towns of Paonta, Majra and Girinagar ranges.

Former Congress MLA Kirnesh Jung, along with officials and field staff from Division Complex compound, flagged off the roadshow towards Paonta Sahib.

Deep Ram, forest guard, Majra Range, also wrote a song for the occasion, highlighting the connect that humans and elephants need to have in order to conserve nature and move towards coexistence.

In a bid to minimise the human-elephant conflict and provide a safe passage to the tuskers, Project Elephant and Tiger has been introduced in the Paonta Sahib-Nahan belt of Sirmaur district.
