EC reviews poll preparedness
In the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections due early next year, the Election Commission of India (ECI) held a meeting with representatives of various political parties in Central Delhi on Wednesday.
BJP MP from New Delhi Bansuri Swaraj, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chaddha and party leader Jasmine Shah were among the attendees at the meeting. The gathering, which lasted for about half an hour, covered a variety of key topics related to the election process.
According to an EC official, the discussions were aimed at reviewing the current election preparedness. “The meeting addressed several aspects of the election process,” the official stated, emphasizing that the primary focus was on ensuring the smooth conduct of elections in Delhi.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Dr Sandhu, also reviewed the overall poll readiness for the upcoming elections.
“CEC Rajiv Kumar, along with ECs Gyanesh Kumar and Dr Sandhu, review poll preparedness for the upcoming Delhi Legislative Assembly elections. Meeting with enforcement agencies is currently underway. Earlier in the day, the commission met representatives of the political parties,” the Election Commission posted on X.
