Chandigarh, January 19
Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala today presided over a meeting regarding the ‘Padma’ scheme. He said the scheme would prove to be a landmark for the rural sector as it would create new employment opportunities for the youth and also increase the income of the panchayats.
Development and Panchayat Minister Devender Singh Babli, and Labour and Employment Minister Anoop Dhanak were also present during the meeting.
The Deputy CM said the state was working on the ‘Padma’ scheme expeditiously and to promote MSMEs in the state, a land pool policy was being formulated. Its draft had been prepared and soon it would be finalized, he added.
He said under land pooling, about 50 acres of land would be raised in each block. “Some products have been fixed block wise by the state, which will help in export. Such quality products were prepared by skilled people in villages, which can get good price at national and international level,” he said. —
