The Ludhiana Commissionerate today arrested a drug smuggler and seized 2.5 kg opium, Rs 22 lakh drug money and car from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Amarjeet Singh, alias Gandhi, a resident of BRS Nagar. Cops said they also seized five mobile phones and gold jewellery from the accused.

DCP (Investigations) Shubham Aggarwal said Amarjeet was arrested by the Ludhiana police in a gambling case and had come out on bail in April 2023.
