His daughter Muskan has also been named in the yesterday’s drug haul. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said she was involved in the supply of weapons and drugs on the instructions of her father.

Sunny’s journey into the world of crime started in 2009 when a case of fraud and later another one under the NDPS Act were registered against him. Now, 26 criminal cases are registered against him. For the past over 15 years, he remained in jails and was released on bail in March this year, said police sources.

During a week-long operation, the city police seized from their possession 8.27 kg heroin, 6 kg opium and 13.1 kg chemical used to increase the quantity of contraband, besides four pistols and 17 live cartridges.
